ERP ย่อมาจาก enterprise resource planning การ integrate ของการทำงานต่างๆ ภายในด้วย software แค่ตัวเดียว และ database เดียว ตัว ERP จะประกอบไปด้วย set of application that automate routine back-end operation ได้แก่
-financial management
-inventory management
-scheduling
-order fulfillment
-cost control
-accounts payable and receivable
สิ่งสำคัญของ ERP คือ
ต้องมองภาพ business ของทั้งองค์กรให้ครอบคลุม ข้อมูลแต่ละเรื่อง flow อย่างไรบ้าง แต่ ERP ก็ยังไปมีส่วนที่ front-end ได้ เช่น POS, Field Sales, Service ต้องดูที่เราสนใจว่ามีอะไรบ้าง การใช้ ERP นั้นจะทำให้เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ เพิ่มคุณภาพสินค้า customer satisfaction และกำไร วัตถุประสงค์เลยคือการ integrate all department and functional information flow across a company onto a single system, single databaseกิจกรรมที่จะทำให้เกิดการ flow ระหว่าง functional
ERP ในปัจจุบันเรียกว่า extended erp ซึ่งสามารถ corporate ไปยัง external supplier and customer
ERP และ Supply Chain สามารถใช้ร่วมกันได้ จะช่วยเพิ่มศักยภาพขององค์กร วัตถุประสงค์ของ supply chain คือ การ Manage flow ของ supply chain ทั้งหมด ในขณะที่ erp คือ integrate flow ที่อยู่ภายใน พื่อให้งานของเราไม่ว่าจะเป็น back-end หรือ front-end มันทำงานได้รวดเร็ว erp จะเน้นที่ specific business process
สิ่งที่คำนึงถึง ERP
1.แต่ละ module ถ้าเอามาแล้วมันให้อะไรกับเรา
2.ต้องกำหนด prioritie business requirement within a process and across the organization เพราะ erp ที่ซื้อมาสามารถปรับได้
3.ทุก Module อาจจะไม่ต้องลงพร้อมกันหมด ให้ดูช่วงเวา และความจำเป็นอะไรที่ต้องใช้ก่อนหลัง
การได้มาของ ERP
1.self-develop an integrated system นำระบบเดิมที่มีอยู่มา integrate แต่จะค่อนข้างยาก
2.ซื้อโปรแกรมเลย (new custom-built system)
3.การจ้างทำ (commercially integrated erp)
4.เช่า (lease from ASP)
ปัญหาของ ERP
1.erp ที่ซื้อมาอาจจะไม่เข้ากับ process การทำงานเดิมที่มีอยู่
2.erp’s standardized processes based on best practices
3.ถ้ามีการปรับก้ต้องเสียราคาหนึ่ง ถ้าไม่ปรับก็อีกราคา
4.ต้องทำความเข้าใจ business ตัวเองให้ได้ก่อนที่จะเลือก ERP vendor
สิ่งที่ทำให้ ERP ในองค์กรไม่ประสบผลสำเร็จ
1.ความคาดหวังที่ไม่ได้อยู่กับความเป็นจริง
2.inability to map business processes
3.inaccurate data
4.failure to factor in hidden costs(ต้นทุนแอบแฝงทั้งหลาย)
ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคนที่มาติดตั้ง ERP
1.ต้องมีทีมงานที่ดูแลเรื่องนี้
2.ต้องจ้างที่ปรึกษาที่เชี่ยวชาญระบบ
3.set expectations and manage the project effectively
4.manage the change in organization
5.จัด infrastructure ที่จะมา support การเปลี่ยนแปลงนั้น
6.communicate to all interested parties ทุกนที่เกี่ยวข้องต้องมีการติดต่อสื่อสารที่ดี
